Taylor Lautner gay? What would Bella say?

Taylor Lautner was punked.

The Daily Beast reported that reps for People Magazine say that the mock-up cover featuring Lautner claiming he's coming out is a fake.

The cover, currently making the rounds on social networks, was supposedly from the Jan. 7, 2012 issue and featured a picture of Lautner along with the headline "Out & Proud." It promised an "exclusive" interview about the actor's "decision to finally come out." But a People magazine representative said the cover is not real.

Despite its inauthenticity, the image has kept the social mavens - especially the gays - tittering. The cover, beneath the photo, spouts: "Tired of rumors, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finally come out. 'I'm more liberated, and happier than I've ever been."

Ironically, the "Twilight" star told People magazine in November, "It's very rare that things are true about yourself that are on the Internet," he says. "It's just sad sometimes. So you definitely want to stay away from it as much as possible."
