Too Big To Fail is yet another example of how television is attracting not only the great actors, but the great stories too. With film turning into blockbuster mania featuring mostly slashers, epics and superheroes, a great amount of the superb actors have joined the league of television. HBO, of course, has led that for some time.

"Too Big To Fail" is focused on the inevitable financial crisis and then crash of 2008 that has left the US, and the world, still in a quandary. The story highlights the relationship between Wall Street and Washington and accents on the Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson (William Hurt). Receiving numerous Emmy nominations and a win by Paul Giamatti (for playing Ben Bernanke) the film has an authentic intrigue merited by the director Curtis Hanson’s (L.A. Confidential) ability to create sophistication in almost every scene.

The Blu-ray/DVD Combo includes an ever-handy digital copy that work on iPads to iPhones and a special features disc. The special features disc includes a making of "Too Big To Fail" with comments from cast and crew about the events that inspired the film, a discussion on the origins of the economic crisis and a timeline of vital events that impacted the economic crisis.

The film is uncomfortable to watch as we still are still reeling from the troubles and so it intensifies the experience for viewers. Educational, enlightening and at times frustratingly accurate the made for TV film has all the elements of an excellent unfeigned political drama.
